03 — Client onboarding

Before you take a client

Check / verify every client’s KYC on the KRAFetch and confirm the client’s KYC records from the KRA before onboarding.

Share the MITC at onboarding and record the client's consent

Charge fees only within the prescribed limits and permitted modes

Collect fees through a validated UPI ID — the SEBI-verified ‘@valid’ handle for registered intermediariesSo clients can confirm they’re paying a genuine registered RA, verifiable via SEBI Check.

Never promise assured, guaranteed or fixed returns — anywhere

Keep the RA function segregated from any distribution / other activity

04 — Research, disclosures & records

Every recommendation

Disclose conflicts of interest and your holdings in every research report

State the standard disclaimer and rationale with each recommendation

Maintain records of research reports, rationale and recommendations for the required retention period

Keep a recommendations register you can produce at inspection

Maintain a public-appearance / media register

SAAS complianceKeep the SaaS / software tools you use for research, records and client data compliant, retained and data-protected (DPDP).

05 — Advertising & communication

Everything you publish

Follow the Advertisement Code for RAs in all ads and marketing

Apply the social-media advertising advisory to posts on all platforms

No misleading claims, performance promises or unverified track recordsPast performance disclosures must follow SEBI norms.

Carry the standard warning & disclaimer on Telegram / WhatsApp / YouTube content

06 — Grievance & periodic

Keep it running

Onboard onto Smart ODR for unresolved disputes

File periodic reports / submissions to RAASB as required

Get the periodic compliance audit done (as applicable) and keep the report

Review and update all disclosures whenever SEBI changes the format
